Spruced up photos!
A friend managed to clean up the photos a bit. Think quite a fair bit of work is needed to make the other photos look really good. What’s been done so far on the photos are just colour tweaking.

All I want for Christmas is YOU!

Sweet, sweet Toffee

My Happy Bunny Family!
A Pleasant Surprise
It’s a pleasant surprise to see Funshine get along pretty well with Toffee and Latte considering Funshine went to Toffee & Latte’s territory.

3 Happy Rabbits

The girls – Funshine & Toffee

Funshine and Latte snuggling together. Toffee seems a bit left out though.

They look like they’re stoning.

3 Pals
They’re just so cute and adorable. Whatever Toffee and Latte do, Funshine will try to follow. Sure, when they first met, they fought a little. When Funshine visited their cage, there was some scuffles and whatnot but all is good after that.
The SBG Photoshoot
Brought all of them to the Singapore Botanic Gardens on 10 December for a photoshoot.
Here’s some of the photos. They’re not taken by me but by a friend.

“It’s too hot to do a photoshoot!”
It’s actually 10ish in the morning and I’m already thinking that it’s great that there’s no sign of rain. This Queen here is saying that it’s too hot. -________________________-

Everybody’s missing! Soufflé’s all alone.

Toffee (on the left) and Latte (on the right) are not on talking terms.

Visit to the Vet
Last Thursday, 11 December 2008, Funshine and Soufflé went to the vet.
Soufflé had a sodium test done. This time, they drew out 0.2ml of blood. Previously, for the blood test, it was 0.4ml of blood. His reading for sodium is 136. The normal range based on medical journals is 138 – 150. So his is considered low. Now, it’s not diabetes nor kidney malfunction as both will result in a high level of sodium reading. So both are out. We’re left with stress which didn’t change when we tried changing the environment for him and all that. So that’s sort of out. Since he’s okay, vet says that 600ml should be okay. I think he’s drinking around 600ml to 800ml a day. Guess if nothing happens, it should be okay.
As for Funshine, she went to the vet with a swollen foot. Turns out that the sore hocks resulted in bone infection on her left foot. Now, despite her sore hocks improving, she still had a bone infection. Maybe I should have brought her to the vet earlier. Because we went to the Singapore Botanic Garden, and her foot got caught in between the planks of the benches, it could be the trauma that caused the fracture. Or, the fracture could also be caused by the bone infection. Vet cannot tell which was it that caused the fracture but because it’s a stable fracture and Funshine’s foot is not out of place, there isn’t a need for her to put on a cast that sort of thing.
In the meantime, she’s given antibiotics for the infection and painkillers to cope with the pain. She’s lost weight. When JadeyVCL passed her to me, she was weighed at the vet at 1.57kg. Second visit to the vet at 1.59kg, third visit at 1.7kg. I’m not sure how much she weighed before spaying but she didn’t seem to have lost any weight.
However, since the SBG photoshoot, she’s picking at her food. I hope she does make more of an effort to eat. When we weighed her last week at the vet’s she is just 1.5kg. Poor girl. I hope she continues to eat more though. I cannot afford for her to go into GI stasis. It’ll probably be really tough on her then. Hope that things are looking up for her. Will be posting up the pictures of them at the SBG soon!
Newest Addition – Funshine!
Previously, Funshine was known as Pearl. She was found by JadeyVCL on 21 October 2008. On 24 October 2008, I brought her home to foster her while we look for a permanent home for her. She went to the vet (I named her Vanilla while at the vet’s) for a check up before I brought her home (then Jadey and I decided on naming her Pearl) and she was found to have fur mites and ear mites. She had to go back to the vet for three consecutive weeks were she received injections for her mites. The vet estimated that she is about 2 years of age.
On 13 November 2008 at 8.30pm, she went to her adopter’s house. On 14 November 2008, she had her sterilisation at the same clinic.
On 15 November 2008, her adopter called me to report that he might have to return Funshine to me. I asked him to try to see if he can give her more time to settle in and all that. He agreed to try but said that he is just preparing me that she’ll be returned.
On 23 November 2008 at 11.12am, he sms-ed me to inform me that he wanted to return Funshine to me. He insisted in returning her in the same afternoon. I felt that there was no point trying to ask him to give her a chance, so I took her back.
Since she’ll be staying with either Hugs or Tugs (most likely Hugs), I’ve renamed her from Pearl to Funshine so that they’ll have care bear names.
Funshine is really gentle and sweet. I think she’s very pretty too. She’s always happy to see me and loves to be petted.

American Pet Diner Pellets

I bought APD pellets last week…

This is what the pellets look like

I was scooping it out when I realised that there were a lot of pellet-dust!

Look at the amount of dust after I sieved the entire packet!
I weighed the bag of APD pellets before opening it. It was 5lbs. After shaking out all those powder from the pellets, the bag of pellets weighed 4lbs 13oz. And guess what? There is still some dust powder left behind in the bag! Okay, I cannot remove all of the powder but I must say that I did remove a fair bit already.
I’m wondering, there is so much of this dust thingy, is it because the pellets crumbles easily? I’ve never had this sort of issue with Marukan Pellets, and even with the MR-11 which is 3.3kg (more than 5lbs).
So I went to press the ADP pellets. When pressure is added on the pellet, it does not seem to yield to the pressure very visibly. However, when the pressure is released, the pellet seems to start to open up and fall apart. The hay strands can be pretty visible as well. I doubt I’ll buy APD pellets anytime soon.
